The convicted rapist Russel Brand has a long history of misogynist interactions with women which the disgraced comic has come under fire for. Prior to being found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault, Brand has been involved in numerous incidents which have been called acts of misogyny.

From sick jokes about having sexual relationships with incapacitated women, To confessing he destroyed a sex worker’s phone and made a sick “victims list” while he was being treated for sex addiction.

Here are all of Brand’s most egregious acts of Misogyny as the comic has even joked that he would “kidnap” women from nightspots during the height of his fame.

Spitting on the woman after she had helped him finish

In Brand’s 2007 memoir he wrote about one incident which erupted between him and a woman called Michaela.

At the time of the ordeal Brand stated he was at a point in his life where he was “able to chat ’em up [woman], and kidnap them”.

In the book Brand recounted how he and Michaela had a row at his house which resulted in him spitting in her face after the woman had helped him to climax. Brand bragged of how he rushed the woman into his house and was then slapped in the face by lady. After the slap Brand wrote of he returned the blow by spitting in the woman’s face.

Brand said: “I grabbed her shoulders and bum’s rushed her towards the front door.

“As I escorted Michaela through the front door, I felt very strongly that I needed to avenge the slap – ‘She can’t slap me…’ I spat in her face.

“Yes that’s right, I spat in the face of a beautiful woman… I was convinced that it was the only course of action and that there’d be no consequences.”

“Victim list”

In the “My Booky Wook” memoir Brand also admitted he had created a “Victims List” back in 2005 – listing any woman he wronged due to his sex addiction.

Brand stated: “Had to write a victims’ list – a litany of the women I’ve wronged as a result of my sexual addiction.

“I feel like Saddam Hussein trying to pick out individual Kurds.”

In the book Brand also confessed to destroying a sex worker’s phone after he had “boring sex” with her.

The disgraced comic stated after he paid a high price for the encounter and was left disappointed.

In the 2007 book, Russell wrote of the “half-hearted” sexual encounter, acknowledging he had “paid a lot of money” for the “disappointing” experience. The harshly-worded excerpt has since been circulated widely on X, formally known as Twitter.

Brand wrote: “Eventually she agreed to have sex, but a kind of weary, half-hearted, semi-erect, bored, disappointing bit of sex, for which I’d paid a lot of money. During this act of tawdry friction her phone rang again.”

He added: “‘Could you turn that phone off,’ I asked. ‘I can’t relax’. She took the call. I began to wish I hadn’t left the boat. ‘Brydon’s probably doing ‘Delilah’ by now,’ I mused, to which actually helped my erection.

“Another twenty seconds of boring rubbish goes past, then the phone rings again, and I, and this is the worst act of misogyny I’ve committed since the spitting debacle, took the phone out her hand and threw it at a wall. Slow motion.”

He added: “It hits the wall and smashes, and she looks at me, the sex stops, and we separate. Silence. Then I say, realizing my position is compromised, ‘For f***k’s sake, you kept answering the phone’. And she looks at me.”

Concerning comedy

Brand also made numerous concerning jokes about his conduct with women during his career as a comic. A number of these jokes have become increasingly alarming in hindsight.

On a BBC radio show in 2007, he “jokingly” said when it comes to women he likes to have relations with, he doesn’t like getting “bogged down in things like age, race or whether or not they’re awake…”

A few years on, during a 2013 performance (since removed from YouTube), he joked he had “raped someone once” and “killed her after”. He then to make light of child rape in ancient Greece within the very same set.

While millions laughed at Brands’ jokes during his career, in comedy it’s became apparent some of the comments made by the disgraced celeb were insights into his horrifying behaviour.

Brand’s future

On Tuesday after eight-and-a-half hours of jury deliberation, Brand has been found guilty of sexually assaulting an MTV employee at a Soho bar in 2004, alongside a Capital Radio staff member whom he came across in a corridor in 2005.

He was also convicted of sexually assaulting a Channel 4 employee whom he compelled to massage him in 2009, and of raping a young admirer he encountered following one of his performances in 2009.

Brand was acquitted of orally raping an MTV employee. He was also cleared of attempting to drag another MTV staff member into a toilet to indecently assault her in 2001, and of raping a woman he met at a cabaret performance.

While Brand received his verdict on Thursday, he continues to be investigated by the Metropolitan Police regarding additional complaints lodged by two further women.
