Stylish guests at the Leopardstown races put on a glamorous show despite the cold weather this Boxing Day.

Leopardstown’s Christmas Festival kicked off today on St Stephen’s Day, with the first of four days of racing action at the Dublin venue. 

The annual event offers an exhilarating day out for sporting fans, socialites and thrill-seekers alike. 

Colourful coats were all around, with bold splashes of fuchsia pink and ruby red aiming to make a fashionable impact and stop festival goers from freezing. 

Racegoers were out in their finest today at Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin. These two women wore long smart coats over their sequin and leopard print dresses 

Over the four days, races will include seven Grade 1 races featuring The Paddy Power Steeplechase and Paddy Power Future Champions Hurdle, Savills Chase and Matheson Hurdle.

Race goers appeared to be in good spirits as they donned Santa hats and and fascinators. 

Many women had pulled out all the stops to make a glamorous festive entrance one the first day of the festival. 

Beneath their colourful heavy winter coats were pops of leopard print, sequins and satins. 

One woman wore a bright red pvc coat complete with furry trim and matching gloves plus matching red tights and a green fascinator 

One glamorous festival goer opted for a white wide leg two piece suit with black fascinator with a net veil and black cashmere scarf 

Dublin women Shauna O’Callaghan (left) and Megan Satchwell (left) looked in good spirits despite the weather. Shauna wore a sparkly silver headband and blue drop earrings

These two women put on a leggy display at Leopardstown in glamorous scarlet dresses ending just above the knee

Another women who got her pins out showed off her sparkly stiletto heels and sophisticated white coat. She also wore a navy blue fascinator 

While the women stole the show the men had made an effort with many wearing smart coats, ties and respectable flat caps. 

One woman opted for a chic white wide legged two piece suit, with a black fascinator and cashmere shawl. 

And another went all out in a red PVC coat complete with fluffy trim and matching gloves. 

She even matched her tights and wore a pair of black platform boots, setting her outfit alive with an emerald green fascinator. 

While others braved the cold and bared their legs, in mini dresses and strappy high heel sandals.
