Roger Federer’s incredible act of kindness to tennis ball girl who ‘broke rules’ on court

Roger Federer’s incredible act of kindness to a ballgirl at Roland Garos in 2011 has finally come to light.

Federer was experiencing a tough period in his career, and he had a series of high-profile losses, leaving him with none of the four major titles. However, the Swiss superstar had a chance to end the rut at the French Open.

But as Federer’s performance dipped in the final against the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, ball girl Kenza Del offered her own support. In a viral moment, Kenza wrote in the clay: “Allez Roger,” to offer her support towards the Swiss superstar – an act strictly against court rules.

Speaking ahead of the 2023 iteration, over a decade after the event, Kenza explained: “It was a tough moment for him. And I don’t know why but I decided to write ‘Allez Roger’!”

She added that Federer saw the gesture, and thanked her by sending a frame with the iconic red shirt that he wore during the match, along with an autograph.

Kenza continued: “I never got to meet the photographer, never got the chance to thank him. So, if he watches this video, if he hears me, I’ll be glad to thank him, because it’s all thanks to him.”
