US to maintain nukes in sleepy English village as ‘UK on frontline of Armageddon’

The US is reportedly set to place nuclear weapons thrice as highly effective because the bomb dropped on Hiroshima in a sleepy English village.

The UK’s RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk is claimed to be the brand new web site for the weapons, sparking fears it’ll put Britain “on the frontline for a nuclear war between [the] US [and] Russia.” The information comes after calls from some navy figures to ramp up preparations for a possible battle with Russia.

It could be the primary time the US has positioned nukes right here since 2008 and has been delivered to mild by a report in The Telegraph. The Ministry of Defence has refused to verify nor deny the claims.

The weapons that may very well be transferring to Lakenheath, B61-12 gravity bombs, are stated to be thrice extra highly effective than these dropped on Hiroshima on the finish of World War Two and will be delivered by fighter jets. Responding to the report, a spokesperson for the UK’s Ministry of Defence stated: “It remains a longstanding UK and NATO policy to neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons at a given location.”

The Telegraph experiences the transfer is a part of a bid from NATO to “upgrade and develop” nuclear websites as Russian aggression grows.

Concerns have already been raised by activist teams, together with The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) which wrote on X: “US nuclear bombs in Britain put us on frontline of a nuclear war between US & Russia. That’s why 59% of Brits don’t want them. UK govt should help de-escalate this conflict not drag us into WWIII.”

Concerns over escalation and preparedness had been put into focus this week by General Sir Richard Sherriff, ex-deputy supreme allied commander of NATO. He informed Sky News that the UK’s defence funds wasn’t large enough to broaden the present 74,000-strong military, noting it was time to “think the unthinkable” including: “I believe we have to go additional and look fastidiously at conscription.”

Downing Street ruled out the need for conscription, saying that military service would remain voluntary.
