York Dante Meeting: Champion tipster’s day one suggestions

SPYCATCHER (3.15) can complete a successful mission in the 1895 Duke of York Clipper Stakes on day one of the Dante meeting.

Karl Burke’s six-year-old has improved with age and came within a whisker of winning a Group One in France last summer.

He was second to Highfield Princess in this race two years ago and will relish the rain that fell on Tuesday that should take the sting out of the ground.

Ryan Moore in the saddle is the cherry on the cake and 7-1 is fair.

In a cracking contest, last year’s winner Azure Blue, Art Power and Montassib are among the dangers.

Friendly Soul will go off a warm favourite in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes after an easy success at the Guineas meeting.

But she is no value in the betting and I’m taking a chance with 5-1 shot CLASSICAL SONG (3.45) who was a staying on fourth to Ylang Ylang in the Fillies’ Mile and won’t mind if the rain has got into the ground.

CHILLINGHAM (2.15) should be cherry ripe after two recent runs in the Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Jorvik Handicap and at 9-1 is a fair each-way price. Rain will help although Klondike is a big danger and could be a group horse running in a handicap.

ABERAMA GOLD (2.45) has posted two solid efforts this season and gets the nod in the Churchill Tyres Handicap. He goes well on the Knavesmire and the handicapper has given him half a chance.

Woven is an each-way play at a big price (20-1) with Oisin Murphy bang in form.

Another tricky handicap ends the ITV coverage and a chance is taken with QUIET RESOLVE (4.15) who has shown plenty of ability on the all weather and may just be well treated.
