French Open star, 23, value greater than Federer, Nadal and Djokovic mixed

Emma Navarro may not be a household name yet, but her net worth could make tennis legends like Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal envious.

The young sportswoman, 23, who opens her Roland Garros account against Zeynep Sonmez on Tuesday (May 28), isn’t feeling the financial strain thanks to her billionaire father.

Navarro, currently ranked 22nd in the WTA, is the daughter of investment tycoon Ben and the granddaughter of former American football player turned coach Frank. Among his many ventures, Ben is the founder and owner of Sherman Financial Group, which includes Credit One Bank.

Ben has also ventured into the world of tennis as Emma’s career continues to ascend, buying Charleston Tennis LLC through his Beemok Sports company in 2018. This organisation hosts the longest-running women-only tennis tournament in the world, the Charleston Open.

He also revamped a stadium in South Carolina to accommodate 10,000 spectators and renamed both the tournament and the venue after his company, Credit One.

Fast forward to 2022, he secured the rights to the Western and Southern Open, a competition that features both men’s and women’s singles, reports the Mirror.

Rising tennis sensation Navarro is set to beat her personal best at a major by progressing beyond the third round for the first time. Her Grand Slam journey kicked off as a wildcard entrant at the 2021 US Open, where she was knocked out in the first round by fellow Brit Christina McHale.
