French Open stars are courting as Jannik Sinner confirms romance with tennis ace

Tennis sensation Jannik Sinner has confirmed he’s off the market, folks!

The 22-year-old ace, currently ranked world number two, breezed into the second round of the French Open with a straight sets win over Christopher Eubanks. Fresh from his Australian Open victory in January, the Italian is gunning for his second Grand Slam title, but it’s not just Sinner’s on-court prowess that’s got tongues wagging.

Amidst all the buzz about his ambitions to snag the world number one spot and concerns over the hip injury that saw him pull out of the Italian Open, it’s Sinner’s love life that’s stolen the spotlight. The rumour mill went into overdrive after tennis fans spotted a photo of Sinner in Monaco receiving a call from ‘Anna’, fuelling speculation about a new romance with Anna Kalinskaya.

The pair hitting the courts together in Italy last month and being spotted dining out in France only added fuel to the fire. Facing the media after his match on Monday, Sinner was quizzed about the rumours during the Italian segment of his press conference.

With a nod to his private nature, he confirmed, “I don’t like to talk about my private life much, but yes, Anna and I are dating.”

Kalinskaya, 25, cheered Sinner on against Eubanks before gearing up for her first round match on Monday. Later in the day, Australian Open champ Sinner was spotted supporting Kalinskaya from her box as she also secured a straight sets win over Clara Burel. The duo are the latest addition to the growing list of tennis power couples.

Tennis stars Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils are hitched, while Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur are an item. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have announced they’re back on after a brief split earlier this month.

As for Sinner and Kalinskaya, both are set to play their second round matches on Wednesday. Sinner is up against Richard Gasquet while Kalinskaya is pitted against Bianca Andreescu in their quest for the French Open title.
