Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from wife Firerose following just seven months of marriage.
The singer, 62, wed his Australian wife, 34, back in October 2023 but filed for divorce in late May – per TMZ. She was his third wife – he was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 until 1991 and Miley Cyrus‘ mom Tish from 1993-2022.
The divorce case notes there are no minor children between them.
Tish Cyrus – who shares three children – including Miley Cyrus – with the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker – wed Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in 2023.
Billy and Firerose had previously gushed about their romance and the unexpected way they met and eventually got married.

The pair tied the knot during an ‘ethereal celebration of love’ in October and shared images taken on the special day to Instagram
On an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show last year , Clarkson asked the couple about the story of how they met, with Firerose saying: ‘It’s actually a funny story because I was walking out of an audition on Sunset Gala in Hollywood.’
The couple met each other on a Los Angeles street while Billy, 62, was with his dog and Firerose was coming out of an audition.
‘[He] was the most beautiful German shepherd you’ve ever seen,’ said Firerose, ‘he was tapped into some divine purpose because we were, at the time, just friends and all these years later…that was 14 years ago. All these years later, we just got married.’
Their wedding took place over a year after they initially announced their engagement, and almost two years after Billy Ray’s divorce from Tish Cyrus.
The Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker said ‘I do’ to the Aussie songstress earlier this month, just two months after his ex-wife, Tish, married Prison Break star, Dominic Purcell in August.
In the caption of a joint Instagram post with his new wife, Billy sweetly penned, ’10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony.’
Cyrus expressed, ‘It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.’
‘For both of us to hear the preacher say, “Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus… I now pronounce you husband and wife” that was the sacred moment our new forever began. Long Live Love! ❤️.’

Just one month the split Billy shared a sweet snap with his wife and said ‘so much to be grateful for’
In the series of snaps, Billy donned a sleek, black suit that comprised of slacks as well as a matching blazer on top.
Underneath, he donned a white dress shirt that was partially unbuttoned towards the collar while an orange rose with other florals were placed in the pocket on the left side of the suit jacket.
He tagged both Versace and fashion designer, John Varvatos, when it came to his own look for the nuptials.
Firerose was a stunning beauty wearing a white gown from Laura’s Boutique & Bridal in New York.
The ensemble contained long sleeves that were made of a beaded and lace material as well as an overlay on the bodice that contained a V-neck cut on the front.
The skirt portion of the dress flowed down and fell into a breathtaking train behind her. The songstress added a sheer veil on the back of her head that also flowed down to brush the ground.
Billy and Firerose are seen in happier times
Her blonde locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly cascaded down past her shoulders in elegant waves.
She held a colourful bouquet in her hand that contained a variety of different florals that coincided with the fall season.
In the first picture, the newlyweds paused for an adorable snap as they stood close together for a loving embrace. Billy laid a gentle kiss on her forehead as she flashed a cheerful smile.
The pair could be seen standing outdoors in a grassy field while surrounded by greenery. The bright sunshine peaked through the trees in the near distance for a scenic image.
The second photo showed the lovebirds sitting on a hill with a beautiful view sprawled out behind them. Cyrus sweetly wrapped his arm around Firerose as she leaned against him.
Lastly, the two also took a close-up as they sent gazes towards the camera. The songstress lifted her hand up towards her shoulder and Billy reached over to rest his hand on hers as they flashed their wedding rings.

The two notably collaborated on the track called, New Day, which was released in 2021 and the pair also performed the song together on a number of talk shows.
Cyrus and Firerose also worked on the track, Plans, which they sang together on Good Morning America last month in September.
In August 2022, Billy proposed to Firerose, however, he didn’t confirm their engagement until later that same year in November.
