Wimbledon star’s WAG responds after being slammed for ‘cringe’ antics

Paige Lorenze has responded to a barrage of stick for a photo featuring her and tennis pro boyfriend Tommy Paul with a short four-word reply.

The influencer attracted criticism when she stormed onto the Queen’s Club Championships court to celebrate Paul’s 6-1, 7-6(8) victory over Lorenzo Musetti, reports the Mirror.

Some fans who saw the couple’s celebration online accused Lorenze of grabbing Paul’s neck harshly as they celebrated his victory in front of photographers. Another video showed Lorenze appearing to give directions to the photographers gathered around them.

Critics voiced their disdain online as one commentator said: “If Tommy Paul’s girlfriend could, she would kick him and pose with the trophy herself,” while another commented: “I’m sorry but this is hard to watch.”

Further viewers shared their discomfort as one said: “This is all so cringe. Since when are GF’s on court especially at a prestigious historic stage as Queen’s? Tennis is becoming a reality TV show.” Another chimed in: “So awkward. Like why is she pulling his neck so much? How did she even reach there?”

However, Lorenze addressed the backlash in her recent YouTube video, where she playfully grabbed Paul’s neck whilst travelling to Wimbledon by car. They took a humorous picture mirroring the controversial ‘claw stance’.
