Paedo instructor Rebecca Joynes’ made 3-word assertion when cops confront her

Footage of disgraced teacher Rebecca Joynes’ jaw-dropping reaction to being arrested for sleeping with children has been released.

The 30-year-old predator was today (Thursday, July 4) sentenced to six and a half years in jail after being found guilty of sexual activity with two schoolboys. Judge Kate Cornell berated the defendant, who preyed on underage pupils and became pregnant by one of them, for ‘exploiting’ her job for ‘sexual gratification’.

The court heard how the day before Joynes’ arrest, she had planned a ‘date night’ with one of her victims which consisted of an Ann Summers scratch card of sexual activities and rose petals.

Bodycam footage of police entering the shamed teacher’s flat show the moment Joynes knew she had been rumbled.

“Hi, we’re looking for Rebecca,” two police from Greater Manchester say – to which Joynes replies: “Yeah that’s me.” Officers proceed to follow Joynes into her living room where she stands quiet with her arms folded. A male officer states: “I’m not sure if you know what’s going on, but my colleague has just got something she needs to say to you.”

The female officer, wearing the bodycam, takes over, adding: “So obviously given what’s happened, I know you’ve been sent home from school today, you are under arrest at the moment on suspicion of sexual activity with a child.”

Joynes’ looks gobsmacked by the accusation and proceeds with a three word statement: “Are you serious?” The video skips to the predator sitting in the back of the police van, staring at the ground.

CCTV footage of the paedophile in action grooming one of her teenage victims has also been released by police. The grainy footage shows Joynes in a shop with the youngster, who remains anonymous for legal reasons, while picking out a belt for him. She can be seen smiling at him and using her credit card to purchase the £345 Gucci accessory.

After she was found guilty, Joynes was called a sexual predator by the Crown Prosecution Service. Jane Wilson, Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS North West, said: ” Joynes was entrusted with the responsibility of teaching and safeguarding children. She abused her position to groom and ultimately sexually exploit schoolboys. Her behaviour has had a lasting impact on them.

“The CPS worked with Greater Manchester Police to build a strong case to put before the jury, including eyewitness testimony, phone evidence showing the messages sent by Joynes and CCTV footage. I would like to thank the victims for supporting the prosecution. Joynes will now face the consequences of her actions.”
