Microsoft outage sparks World War 3 fears as individuals blame Russia and aliens
Social media has gone into meltdown with the news of a worldwide Microsoft outage as people declare “we are under attack.”
Media companies, airlines, banks, hospitals and supermarkets have been affected by the global tech glitch which hit last night.
Many speculated it could be the start of World War 3, while others blamed Russia and even aliens.

On Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) one user posted: “We are under attack.”
Another wrote: “I read somewhere once that ww3 would be mostly a cyber war.”
While one said: “My bet is on Russia/china/North Korea backed cyber attacks.”
“Eyes on Russia for this one,” added another.
Some people seemed to have other extra terrestrial theories with one posting: “It’s the first step in an alien attack. They take the communicates down first. Call Will Smith! For the sake of humanity.”
Another added: “Not to be too alarmist, but the current situation would be the likely scenario in the event of an alien invasion…….just saying!!”
American Airlines, Qantas, and Ryanair are among the airlines to experience disruption this morning. Sky News was forced off air and NHS and banking systems have also been hit.
Train companies have also been affected.
Microsoft 365 say they are investigating an issue impacting users’ ability to access apps and services.
“Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions,” they said on X this morning.
“We still expect that users will continue to see gradual relief as we continue to mitigate the issue.”
