Usain Bolt’s girlfriend, web value, the place he’s now, ideas on damaged data

Usain Bolt is often hailed as one of the greatest athletes ever – but his life away from the track is less well-documented.

After delivering a series of jaw-dropping performances in three consecutive Olympic Games, Bolt hung up his spikes in 2017. His illustrious career saw him bag eight Olympic gold medals and he still holds the world records for the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay.

Bolt’s record for the 100m, which has stood since August 2009, is an impressive 9.58s, while his 200m time, also set in 2009, is a swift 19.19s. Recently, two young sprinters have been eyeing his records, thrusting Bolt back into the limelight as he shared his thoughts on the future of the sport he ruled for a decade.

Known for his passion for cars, music and football, the 38-year-old is a man of many interests. Here, we delve into the life behind one of the most successful athletes of all time.

How much is Usain Bolt worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Bolt’s fortune is a staggering $90million (£68.276m). It’s thought that Bolt raked in $20-30m annually in the year leading up to an Olympics, earning him the title of the highest-paid track and field athlete of all time.

Bolt also racked up a fortune with Puma shelling out a cool $9m (£6.827m) annually to keep the star laced up in their trainers 24/7. But that’s not all – he pocketed some tidy sums from endorsements with Visa, Nissan, and Gatorade, reports the Mirror.

Additionally, his 2010 autobiography was a smash hit, reeling in a multi-million payday from HarperCollins. For an appearance by the Olympic legend you’d need to fork out up to an eye-watering $500,000 (£379,000) for the pleasure of his company.

Jamaican model Kasi Bennett has been with Bolt since 2013, but it was a very private relationship until photos were posted of the pair in 2016 while on holiday in Bora Bora. Inspired by his parents, Wellesley and Jennifer, who were together for 10 years pre-wedding bells, Bolt said he aims for a match-up similar to his folks.

Speaking to PEOPLE, he said: “She’s happy, I’m happy. I want to have what my parents have. I want to take my time to make sure everything is perfect.”

The couple now share three children. Olympia Lightning Bolt, who was born in 2020, and twins Thunder and Saint Leo, born in 2021. The couple are still going strong in 2024 too.

In a touching Instagram post in July, Bolt celebrated Kasi’s 33rd birthday. He wrote: “Today is a wonderful day it’s my queens birthday so let’s come together and wish her and happy birthday @kasi.b love you baby girl.”

Bennett, who regularly shares glimpses of their lavish lifestyle on social media, is often seen with Bolt enjoying the high life aboard their yacht. They are also seen jet-setting to swanky destinations like California, Ibiza, and Atlanta.

The sprint king’s got a serious need for speed and splashed out a whopping £216,000 on a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

But it’s his Ferrari fever that’s got everyone talking. After smashing the 100m and 200m world records, he treated himself to a shiny silver Ferrari California back in 2009, costing him £149,000.

He didn’t stop there; an F430 Spider joined his collection for £186,000, and he was even gifted a flashy yellow Ferrari 458 Italia. The latest gem in his luxury car trove is a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, valued at about £264,000.

Yet, the crown jewel of his fleet is the ultra-extravagant Rolls-Royce Phantom II, with a staggering price tag of £494,000. Bolt also has a black Mercedes G-Class and was even gifted a navy blue 2008 BMW M3 by Puma.

However, he has had his share of scares as his passion for driving led to a couple of nasty crashes. Both times he thankfully walked away with barely a scratch.

How does Usain Bolt feel about his records being broken?

This year, 16-year-old sprinters Nickecoy Bramwell from Jamaica and Australia’s Gout Gout left athletics fans gobsmacked by shattering two of Bolt’s junior records. Gout tore through the U20 World Championships in Peru, bagging silver with a blistering 20.60 seconds in the 200m, just pipping Bolt’s 2002 marker.

Bramwell took Bolts Under-17 400m world record at the Carifta Games in Grenada, clocking in at 47.26 seconds, nudging past the record by a mere 0.07 seconds. With the baton seemingly passing to teen sensations, the lightning-fast megastar himself remained as chill as ever about his records being topped, while also suggesting track and field could use some new “personalities”.

“After me, it kind of went down because of who I was as a person, and how big my personality was,” Bolt said. “But I think over time it will be better. I think young athletes are coming up and I see a few personalities that are needed in sport, hopefully in the upcoming years it will change.”

What has Usain Bolt done since retiring from athletics?

The Jamaican sprinting icon officially called it a day after suffering a hamstring injury during the 4x100m relay event at the 2017 World Championships. Post-retirement, he pursued his passion for football.

Bolt made his professional debut in the game in 2018 with Australia’s A-League team, Central Coast Mariners, but departed after eight weeks. He also had a brief training stint with Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, but was told he didn’t have a future with the club after two days.

Since then, Bolt has participated in Soccer Aid and appeared on several TV shows. As per IMDB, he’s shared screen space with Lionel Messi in Goat Camp (2020) and collaborated with LeBron James, Tom Brady and Marcus Rashford in Greatness Code (2020).

He also produced an animated short film, The Boy Who Learned to Fly (2016), which explores his life before his track success. Bolt has also been actively involved in philanthropy.

His foundation, The Usain Bolt Foundation, aims to create “opportunities through education and cultural development for a positive change”. He has helped provide laptops and printers to schools in rural areas of Jamaica, and has even dabbled in music production.

He has also expressed his love for working with special needs athletes. The sprinting superstar has shared his eagerness to contribute to the sport that propelled him to fame as well, revealing a major desire to take on an ambassadorial role within athletics.

“I’m still waiting on a position from [World Athletics],” he told Reuters in May 2023. “I’ve reached out to them and let them know I would love to make a bigger impact in sports, as long as they want me to.”
