Taylor Fritz’s WAG has ‘mortifying’ admission about assembly US Open finalist
Morgan Riddle admits she’s still embarrassed about how she first met US Open finalist Taylor Fritz.
Often called tennis’ ‘Posh and Becks,’ the couple began dating in 2020 after matching on the celebrity app Raya – a detail Riddle humorously confessed on TikTok still “mortifies” her.
With bars and restaurants closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Fritz, 26, invited Riddle, 27, over to his place for their first date, where they decided to watch a movie. However, instead of picking a light-hearted rom-com or cosy chick flick, Riddle opted for a disturbing horror film – a choice she quickly regretted.

“I made him watch Midsommar with me, the really messed up horror movie,” the influencer said. “Why I chose that as my first introduction to a guy, I don’t really know. I think I traumatised him a little bit.”
Despite a slightly rocky first meeting, Fritz and Riddle’s relationship has blossomed, earning them the status of tennis’ premier power couple. Riddle, known for her popular vlogs and “day in the life” content on platforms like YouTube and TikTok, has garnered a huge following, attracting hundreds of thousands of fans.

The couple also appeared in the Netflix series Break Point, which spotlighted tennis pros competing in Grand Slam events. In one of the show’s most viral clips, Riddle openly shared her goal of making “tennis cool again.”
Her comment that tennis was “pretty uncool and unknown in America” sparked a bit of online controversy, but Fritz quickly stood by her side, defending her during a 2022 press conference. “I think what she did was awesome for our sport. It got a ton of people looking at it,” he said.
“I think you get your typical older fan who may be upset about it. I don’t understand how anyone can get upset about it. I’m the one that’s a professional tennis player, I’m the one that does this for a living. I 100 percent agree with everything in that video.”
Riddle has been seen cheering from the sidelines throughout the US Open, supporting Fritz as he competes. The American player is gearing up to take on World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in today’s final (September 8), with the opportunity to secure his first Grand Slam title. A win would mark a significant milestone in Fritz’s career and be the first Grand Slam victory for an American man since Andy Roddick’s US Open win in 2003.
Prior to this event, Fritz, ranked World No. 12, had never progressed past the quarter-finals in a major, having been knocked out in the last eight on four occasions, including three times in the last year. After sailing through the first three rounds with straight-set victories, he encountered a formidable challenge in the fourth round against World No. 8 Casper Ruud.
Despite losing the opening set, Fritz fought back to overcome Ruud in four sets. The Californian then secured a decisive four-set win over fourth seed Alexander Zverev, paving the way for a semi-final clash with fellow American Frances Tiafoe.
In a gruelling five-set match, Fritz triumphed, becoming the first American man to reach a Grand Slam final since Andy Roddick in 2009. Yet, his final opponent, Jannik Sinner, is expected to be his most formidable challenge.
The 23-year-old Italian has been in outstanding form, dropping only two sets throughout the tournament. Sinner, who won the Australian Open and reached the semi-finals of the French Open this year, has held the World No. 1 spot since June.
