Luke Littler captured the heart of the nation during his run to the Paddy Power PDC World Darts Championship.

The Nuke, 17, proved he was a man – or boy – of the people when he turned to crowd and asked if he should have another kebab. However, as Littler’s star started to rise and the accolades started to roll in – Littler went on a health kick.

He explained: “My manager said ‘When you finish it could be 11 or 12, it’s all fast food’. So I’ve got to look after myself, eat before I play. When I’ve finished, even if I stay up to whenever, I just won’t eat. This is my new way of living.”

Littler’s new health kick has seen him reach the final of the World Darts Championship for a second season running. One year older and one year wiser, the Nuke faces Michael van Gerwen in the final.

However, in the days leading up to the final, Littler was subject to comments from Good Morning Britain’s Adil Ray with regards to his physique: “I’m a little bit worried about Littler. He’s 17 and he’s turning into the look of a darts player.”

Adil added: “He’s going to get more successful and he can keep on doing it but I don’t want him to get too unhealthy…Just before the final. Here you go, I’ve got a salad for you from Pret!”

Littler had opened up on his diet at the World Darts Championship last year – when he was asked what a normal day’s intake of food looked like.

He explained: “I will just do what I have been doing. In the morning, I will go for my ham-and-cheese omelette.
