Marcus Rashford’s transfer plan has been revealed as a host of European and Premier League suitors consider a move for the outcasted forward

Marcus Rashford’s transfer plans have emerged with European giants reportedly considering a move to sign the out of favour Manchester United forward this month.

The 27-year-old has been out of the picture at Old Trafford since the arrival of Ruben Amorim and is set for a busy January of transfer interest. Rashford has been at United since he was a schoolboy but he has not featured in the last six games and appears likely to eventually leave Old Trafford after admitting he is “ready for a new challenge”.

Interest from clubs around Europe and in the Premier League is reportedly growing and discussions are said to be taking place to understand the chances of Rashford leaving Old Trafford on a loan deal this month.

According to The Athletic, Borussia Dortmund are among a number of clubs considering a move in the January transfer window. They add that interest from the likes of AC Milan, Juventus and Premier League sides is also there, with clubs pondering over striking deal on loan until the summer.

Rashford earns more than £325,000-per-week on his contract that doesn’t expire until 2028, meaning a major sticking point in a potential deal would be the finances involved in covering his eye-watering salary.

However, United value Rashford at around £50m and would prefer a permanent sale. The England international has turned down three offers to move to the Saudi Pro League, where he would have more than doubled his wages.

United and Dortmund previously did business in similar circumstances 12 months ago when Jadon Sancho joined the Bundesliga club for the second half of the season, following his public fallout with former boss Erik ten Hag.

Sancho left Old Trafford in August despite appearing to reconcile with Ten Hag and returning to the team, joining Chelsea on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Rashford was dropped from the Red Devils’ squad that won at the Etihad Stadium last month against Manchester City after playing in all 15 of United’s previous Premier League games.

He did make a return to the squad against Newcastle United but remained an unused substitute in the defeat.
