Vladimir Putin unleashes missile hell on Ukraine civilians – defying warning from Trump
Putin seems undeterred by Trump’s warnings with Ukraine receiving another round of heavy missile shelling –resulting in dozens of civilians casualties in several cities
Donald Trump’s warning to Vladimir Putin to stop his attacks on Ukraine has, it appears, fallen on deaf ears. Russian forces have carried out a spree of devastating bombing raids overnight, killing many civilians in the process.
Brutal shelling in Dobropillia, Donetsk, left at least 11 people dead and 30 more injured, including five children. Shocking footage reveals eight five-storey buildings reduced to rubble, all the while rescue workers scramble to find survivors. Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin has urged remaining residents of Dobropillia to evacuate.
Elsewhere in Donetsk, nine other civilians were killed, with at least 42 wounded across the region, as Russian missiles and drones ignited massive fires.
a Russian drone strike in Kharviv is believed to have killed at least three more civilians, according to regional military chief Oleg Sinegubov.
“The death toll has risen to three. All are civilian men,” he confirmed.
Putin also unleashed missile and drone strikes on the city of Odesa, causing fires in a number of civilian and industrial facilities. A terrifying video captured the moment a Russian drone struck a car, with the driver miraculously surviving the explosion.
The onslaught comes just days after Trump reportedly blocked Ukraine from receiving U.S. intelligence, leaving the country more vulnerable to Russian missile strikes without warning.
The president has also restricted Ukraine’s access to key mapping data needed for its Western-supplied long-range missiles, in essence grounding a swathe of their most advanced weaponry.
Despite recently threatening sanctions if Russia continued its assault, Trump had previously appeared to defend Putin’s actions, saying: “I actually think he’s doing what anybody else would do. Probably anybody in that position would be doing that right now.”
Trump added: “I think he’s going to be more generous than he has to be.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is set to meet with U.S. officials in Saudi Arabia this Monday, condemned the latest attacks, and once again called for tougher sanctions on Russia.
“Such strikes show that Russia’s goals are unchanged,” Zelenskyy said. “It is very important to continue to do everything to protect life, strengthen our air defence, and tighten sanctions against Russia.”
It is suspected that Russia used Iskander-M missiles, Tornado-S MRLS, and Shahed 136 killer drones in the attacks.
