Ruben Amorim confirms Man Utd star ‘could not converse’ in Red Devils’ newest damage blow

Manchester United’s boss Ruben Amorim has revealed that Ayden Heaven was left speechless after sustaining a potentially serious injury during their 3-0 triumph over Leicester City.
Heaven found himself entangled with Leicester’s striker Patson Daka shortly after the break and needed considerable care from both United and Leicester’s medical teams before being stretchered off the pitch.
Post-match, Amorim caught up with Gary O’Driscoll, United’s head of medical services, who had checked on Heaven.
The youngster didn’t require hospitalisation but exited the King Power Stadium with his right foot in a protective boot. An update on the 18-year-old’s condition is anticipated from United later this week.
“We will see next week,” Amorim commented. “It’s hard to understand because even when he’s on the ground, he can’t speak, he doesn’t know how to explain what he’s feeling because he’s so young. It’s hard to understand what he’s feeling,” reports the Manchester Evening News.
The incident involving Heaven was the sole downside to an otherwise stellar night for United, who climbed from 15th to 13th in the Premier League standings.
United fans were belting out tunes about their Europa League final aspirations, while the team has discreetly put together a seven-game unbeaten streak, not counting their FA Cup fifth-round penalty shootout defeat to Fulham.
Since their recent knockout, United have had a mixed bag of results, drawing 1-1 with both Real Sociedad and Arsenal, but also securing wins against Sociedad in the round-of-16 second leg and Leicester.
Manager Amorim has acknowledged the team’s progress, saying: “I think the performances are improving and when you have the performance and some results, because it was not all the results, you feel better.”
He also noted the team’s resilience, adding: “You start seeing different things. I’m starting to see different things in the team, especially today.
“You can feel a lack of energy in some plays but you feel that the team can find the way to win games even when they are a little bit more tired, it’s a good sign for this team.”
