Bikini vacationer’s terror seen on CCTV as Bangkok rooftop pool shakes throughout Myanmar quake

Swimmer in Bangkok rooftop pool almost swept away during quake
A swimmer suffered a heart-stopping moment when he was almost swept off a Bangkok rooftop after a massive earthquake in Myanmar caused huge tremors in the Thai capital.
CCTV footage shows a couple chilling on a pool float in a pool on the edge of a very tall building in Bangkok before shockwaves hit the capital.

The once-still pool suddenly becomes tidal waves.
The pair scramble to escape the deck as gushes of water sweep across the rooftop – and one swimmer is nearly swept off the edge. Three swimmers are seen clinging on for dear life and struggling to stand up as the tower shakes beneath them.
The tremors were caused by a huge 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on Friday, which has killed over 1000 people and injured more than 2000.
Thailand’s capital Bangkok is around 745 miles from the epicentre of the quake.
A major high-rise also collapsed in the capital, leaving survivors trapped under the rubble.
Bangkok’s governor Chadchart Sittipunt said the city was a ‘disaster area’ and that rescue efforts were underway at three construction sites, including the fallen high-rise.
The quake’s epicentre hit Mandalay in Myanmar, at around 12.50pm on Friday, and was followed by five powerful aftershocks.
One of them measured 6.4 just 12 minutes later, according to the US Geological Survey.
It warned up to 100,000 people could be killed as the disaster was “likely widespread”.
Aftershocks were felt as fair as India and China, the German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
It is the worst to hit Myanmar in nearly 100 years, and officials have dubbed it the “quake of the century”.
Malaysia, China and Russia have sent aid and rescue teams, and the US and UN are also assessing humanitarian needs.
Myanmar is currently in the middle of a brutal civil war and the earthquake has only added to the chaos.
Myanmar’s military government said hospitals are in desperate need of blood donations.
