BREAKING Two killed and one critically harm in taking pictures close to college

A shooting near a primary school has left two dead and one seriously injured in Jablonec, Czech Republic. The police are said to have arrested a suspect in relation to the incident.

The shooting in the Smržovka area of Jablonec, a town of 40,000 in the Liberec region, was confirmed by Czech Republic’s police on social media. They said: “We are currently addressing the reported shooting in Smržovka in the Jablonec region. There are two dead and one seriously injured at the scene.

“The suspect has been detained, and no further danger threatens anyone. We are investigating the details and will report on developments.” The force added that the shooting was not connected to the nearby elementary school.

“We clarify that the shooting in Smržovka had no connection to the local elementary school and occurred outside its premises. Further information will be released after verification.”

A spokesperson for the police told local media was near the grounds of the school in an “open area”. She said: “Shortly before 2 p.m., we received a report of several shots fired. All available units and patrols rushed to the scene.

“The suspect is in custody and the area is currently secure… Given the ongoing operations, we will provide more detailed information later”.
