Ruben Amorim nightmare situation emerges as Man Utd face suspension dilemma

Manchester United have been in fine form recently – winning three Premier League games on the bounce – but Ruben Amorim could soon be facing a suspension headache for the Red Devils

Ruben Amorim could soon be grappling with some significant selection issues due to potential suspensions.

After securing three consecutive victories over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton, Manchester United currently sit sixth in the Premier League table.

Each of these wins showcased different strengths, with their latest 4-2 triumph over Brighton highlighting the attacking prowess added to the squad this summer. Bryan Mbeumo netted twice, with one assist from Benjamin Sesko, after Matheus Cunha opened the scoring.

Casemiro was the other goal scorer for United that evening, his deflected shot beating Bart Verbruggen, and the Brazilian international also provided an assist.

He was outstanding against reigning Premier League champions Liverpool the previous weekend, clearly benefiting from playing just once a week.

However, Amorim may soon have to plan for a United match without Casemiro, and not due to injury. The midfielder has already received three yellow cards, and two more before United’s 20th league game would result in a one-match ban, reports Manchester Evening News.

Another suspension concern arose during the Brighton match, potentially affecting United’s upcoming trip to Nottingham Forest.

When Danny Welbeck scored a superb free-kick to bring Brighton back into the contest, Patrick Dorgu fouled Yankuba Minteh as he was making a break for goal.

The Danish international was only given a yellow card as it was judged that Minteh’s heavy touch meant it wasn’t a clear and obvious goal-scoring opportunity. However, it was his third booking of the season, putting him in the same predicament as Casemiro.

Amorim has shown a preference for using Diogo Dalot as a left wing-back over Dorgu when Amad is on the opposite wing, but he too has already received three yellow cards.

When it comes to potential replacements for Casemiro, both Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo could be deployed alongside Bruno Fernandes. However, Amorim would undoubtedly prefer to have Casemiro available considering his recent performances.
