Huntingdon prepare stabbings witness noticed ‘blood in every single place’ as individuals screamed ‘we love you’
Terrifying eye witness accounts have emerged after multiple people were stabbed on a train earlier this evening, with one noting there was “blood everywhere” after seeing a man with a “large knife.”
Police rushed to the scene at Huntingdon station where the LNER train pulled into after violent scenes erupted on the public transport.
Around 30 officers attended the scene where two men were quickly arrested following the stabbing. Some reports suggested that 10 people have been attacked, though this remains unconfirmed.
However, one thing is for certain – the chilling nature of the stabbing spree that one eye witness described as a “terrible scene” and “really violent.”
Witnesses described seeing a man with a large knife, and passengers hiding in the train toilets to escape the rampage, The Times reported.
One witness told the paper there was “blood everywhere” and people were getting “stamped” on by others as they tried to flee. “I heard some people shouting we love (you),” the witness said.
The attack is understood to have started shortly after the LNER train left Peterborough station.
Video footage on social media showed scores of blue-light police cars and emergency vehicles in a station car park, and a team of armed police running towards the stationary train at Huntingdon station.
Another eyewitness said that the scene on board a train where multiple people were stabbed was “like something from a film”, The Sun reported.
The witness told the paper: “There was blood everywhere, it was a terrible scene, really violent. It was like something from a film. It didn’t feel real and just sparked pure panic on board.
“Shocked onlookers were shaken and traumatised. There’s a heavy police presence on the scene at the moment. All the passengers are stuck at Huntingdon.”
The Huntingdonshire force released a statement on their official Facebook page, Policing Huntingdonshire, and said: “We were called at 7.39pm with reports that multiple people had been stabbed on a train.
“Armed officers attended and the train was stopped at Huntingdon, where two men were arrested. A number of people have been taken to hospital.
“The incident remains ongoing and the A1307 has been closed as you approach the town centre.
“Officers are working with British Transport Police, who are leading on the incident.” The authorities have urged that anyone with any information should report this online at Cambs Police by quoting incident 495 of today (1 November).
If you cannot access the internet, then it is advised to call 101 with any relevant information.
It is believed that the stabbing took place on a LNER service from London King’s Cross to Doncaster, before the train was able to pass through Huntingdon.
LNER (London North Eastern Railway) released a statement and said: “We are aware of an incident involving one of our trains. Our immediate concern is for the welfare of our customers and crew who are on board.
“We are in the process of gathering all the details we can and are liaising with British Transport Police.”
