Lamine Yamal has split from his Argentinian singer girlfriend Nicki Nicole, and had to deny rumours he cheated with an Italian influencer.
The 18-year-old’s private life has almost overshadowed his football career since the winger enjoyed a controversial summer, from romantic getaways with racy influencers to boat parties, which were claimed to have exclusive physical criteria for girls.
But Yamal appeared to have settled down with Nicki, 25, after posting a loved up picture of the two enjoying her 25th birthday celebrations together.
Yamal and the Argentine rapper went public with their relationship in August, with Nicki attending many Barcelona games since, despite eyebrows being raised over their seven-year age gap.
However, their relationship has now ended after rumours swirled that the Barcelona wingers allegedly cheated on his partner in Milan with an Italian influencer following the El Clasico defeat last weekend.
Yamal denies the speculation of unfaithfulness but told Spanish journalist Javier de Hoyos that the couple have separated. “Lamine Yamal has just written to me,” the reporter said on showbiz programme D Corazon on La 1.
“This is an exclusive. Lamine tells me he and Nicki Nicole, who as you know was his girlfriend, are no longer together.
“But there are a few things he wants to clarify because in the last few days there has been a lot of speculation about whether he could have been unfaithful to Nicki or not.”
He added: “He’s cleared this up. He says they’re not together anymore and it hasn’t been because of any infidelity. We’ve simply separated and that’s it.
“Everything that’s been coming out has nothing to do with our relationship.
“Lamine tells me the trip to Italy has nothing to do with all of this, that he was no longer dating Nicki when he went and he hasn’t been with anyone else.”
Reports in the Spanish media earlier this week suggested Yamal had secretly met Italian influencer Anna Gegnoso in Milan. Anna has more than 700,000 followers on Instagram.
Neither Yamal or Nicki have addressed their split but pictures of the two together have been deleted from social media.
The Barcelona star has been struggling on the pitch this season as he battles a chronic groin injury caused by pubalgia.
Barcelona chiefs are said to be fearing that Yamal’s condition is chronic with the issue causing muscles in the pubic area to converge, resulting in discomfort.
Yamal played the entirety of the defeat against Real Madrid last week and was involved in a heated clash with Thibaut Courtois and Dani Carvajal at full-time.
