‘Pathetic’ Gianluigi Donnarumma slammed as Man City keeper booked after dropping clanger

Gianluigi Donnarumma dropped a major clanger as Bournemouth equalised against Manchester City.
The Italian made an uncharacteristic mistake as he gifted Tyler Adams the chance to level the scores at the Etihad in Sunday’s Premier League match-up.
City took the lead through Erling Haaland, who raced through on goal to finish in trademark style. But Bournemouth showed their attacking prowess in spells during the first-half.
An inswinging corner in the 25th minute was horrifically dealt with by Donnarumma. The City keeper got his attempt to punch the ball clear all wrong, with the ball looping directly up into the air and landing at the feet of Tyler Adams, who had a tap in.
Donnarumma was left furious as he tried to cover his mistake by claiming he was fouled. But referee Anthony Taylor had the perfect view and waved away his claims, even booking the goalkeeper for going too far in his protest.
However, the Cherries’ celebrations didn’t last long as another devastating City attack saw Haaland fire the hosts back in front in the 33rd minute.
Fans took to X to mock Donnarumma’s reaction to conceding, with one user saying: “Crying nobody even touched Donnarumma that’s absolutely pathetic”.
Another laughed: “Can tell he’s acting out of embarrassment”. With an Arsenal fan quipping: “They are going complain about set pieces when they can’t defend them.”
A fourth added: “Donnarumma begging for a foul after flapping for a set piece, a tale as old as time.” A fifth slammed: “Donnarumma trying to claim he was fouled there is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in football.”
While an FPL fan slammed: “Stuck Donnarumma in my FPL and he’s lost his clean sheet and picked up a yellow in the space of 30 seconds.”
