POLL OF THE DAY: Should Andrew be faraway from the royal line of succession?

  • Final results will be announced in tomorrow’s poll

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor remains eighth in line to the throne, despite him being dramatically stripped of his remaining royal titles by the King.

The disgraced former royal, 65, is currently sitting in the line of succession behind Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer yesterday said he has no plans to force any changes to this through parliament.

They said: ‘There are no plans…the Government is committed to using parliamentary time to improve the lives of working people.’

Labour MP Jon Trickett, however, has called for Andrew to be removed to guard against him being made monarch in light of an ‘unimaginable family tragedy’.

His comments were echoed by independent MP Rachael Maskell, while an unnamed Labour minister said they would ‘in principle’ support the move.

In our last poll, Mail readers were asked: ‘Should Beatrice and Eugenie also be stripped of their princess titles?’

Out of more than 118,000 votes, 40 per cent said ‘yes’ and 60 per cent percent said ‘no’.
