German Shepherd left ‘limping and bleeding’ after vicious canine assault outdoors a playground in Perth
- Dog owner fears it could happen to another family
- Vicious attack reported to the local council
A Perth mum has made a heart-wrenching plea to dog owners after her beloved pet was savaged in front of children near a suburban playground.
Olive Garcia’s two-year-old German Shepherd, Yuki, was being walked on a leash at the local park in Maddington on Saturday afternoon when two unleashed dogs suddenly charged.
Disturbing footage shared by the distressed owner showed Yuki yelping in agony as she was pinned to the ground, while horrified onlookers scream and rush to pull the animals apart.
Yuki was left ‘limping and bleeding’ from the multiple bites and wounds suffered.
Ms Garcia’s other dog, husky Anki, was so distressed by the attack that he vomited from shock.
She says that the dogs that attacked Yuki were then loaded into a car by their owners, who drove off without saying a word to the traumatised family.
‘Our dogs had no chance to defend themselves,’ Ms Garcia wrote online.
‘It was heartbreaking to see them in such distress – and even more upsetting that the owners of the attacking dogs simply put their dogs in their car and drove away.

‘No apology, no concern, not even a single word to check if our dogs were okay.’
The neighbourhood is still reeling from the attack, amid fears it could happen again.
‘The owners were screaming for the dogs to stop but they wouldn’t,’ a shocked neighbour told Seven News.
Another woman added: ‘Another car came, put two dogs in and then left.
‘I’m just glad our two kids weren’t walking our dog at the same time. That could have happened to them.’
Ms Garcia has reported the incident to City of Gosnells Council.
She opened up about about the ordeal with a heartfelt plea urging pet owners to be more responsible in the hope that no other family endures a similar experience.
‘Being a dog owner comes with responsibility, and that includes keeping others safe by simply leashing your pets in public areas,’ she wrote.
‘What if it had been a child or an innocent person instead of our dogs?’
Shocked witnesses raced to the family’s aid to separate the three dogs
Locals claim the owners of the dogs that attacked Yuki left without saying a word
Daily Mail has contacted City of Gosnells Council for comment.
The council states on its website that it is an offence for a dog to attack or chase a person or animal, regardless if any injury has been caused.
‘Such incidents should be reported to ranger services as soon as possible,’ it states.
‘The owner or person responsible for a dog alleged to have been involved in such an incident could be liable for fines up to $20,000.’
Yuki and Anki are recovering at home but are still traumatised by the ordeal.
Ms Garcia issued a heartwarming update and reminder to dog owners on behalf of her beloved pets on Sunday night.
‘It’s been a tough time, but your support has given us comfort and strength. Knowing that so many people care about our wellbeing warms our hearts and wags our tails,’ the post read.
‘We hope everyone remembers that our fur parents have a duty of care, not just for us, but for other dogs, children, and everyone around.’
