Horror airplane crash with plumes of smoke seen for miles as cops swarm scene

A huge emergency services response has been scrambled to the scene of a horror plane crash. Huge plumes of smoke can be seen billowing from the site in Louisville, US.
Police warned people to stay away from the site, which they described as an “active scene with fire and debris”. The plane is believed to have come down near a Ford assembly plant in the city. A UPS aircraft centre is also nearby.
Louisville Metro Police Department said its officers “are responding to reports of a plane crash near Fern Valley and Grade Lane. Grade lane will be closed indefinitely between Stooges and Crittenden. Injuries reported.”
Photos on social media show huge clouds of thick, black smoke billowing into the skies above. One X user said: “Just drove by and it seems like it’s either ups or the ford plant. Didn’t appear to be the airport. Plume is HUGE.”
Meteorologist Marc Weinberg posted a photo of a huge piece of ash fell from the sky near the airport. He wrote: “There is ash falling all over the place.”
An emergency alert sent to local residents reads: “There has been an incident near the airport. A shelter-in-place has been issued for all locations within 5 miles of the airport. Please remain away from the area until further notice.”
