‘Kids critically injured’ in Scarborough firework horror as police shut down seaside ‘occasion’

A Bonfire Night horror has reportedly seen children injured by fire works on a UK beach last night (November 5).
The incident on Scarborough beach in North Yorkshire saw police and paramedics called to the scene.
Emergency services rushed to the beach where the event, which is believed to be unauthorised.
At east two children were seriously injured by fireworks going off that reportedly went off in their hands and faces, reports Yorkshire Live.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance is also believed to have been called with the two young people, reportedly teenagers, were rushed to James’ Cook University Hospital in Middlesborough.
A witness speaking to Yorkshire Live said: “Ambulance and police responded quickly but roads were gridlocked and had difficulty accessing. Would be better if street was closed to cars during this period.”
The town’s main community Facebook page Scarborough Moan said that children have been “seriously injured”.
The admin of the page, which has over 75,000 followers, took the decision to turn off comments to stop the wide-spread rumours about what happened from circulating.
Their original post said: “There has been a serious incident involving fireworks that have left children seriously injured. I am limiting posts and comments to that information only so families do not have to read comments before being informed.
“It is not the time or place for speculation or distasteful comments when children are seriously injured.”
