Woman advised to ‘name an exorcist or priest’ after recognizing ‘ghost’ on her staircase
A spine-chilling photo of ‘ghost’ on a staircase is spreading terror on TikTok, with social media users frantically warning a women to leave her home before it’s too late
A spine-chilling clip of a ‘ghost’ has social media users begging a woman to start running or call in paranormal investigators. The scare began when Firzana, a Belfast-based TikToker, posted a picture of herself on her staircase at home.
She filmed herself reflected in a large window. Right behind her, though, there appears to be a woman with a pale fact and long brown hair – but who wasn’t really there.
Firzana, who posts as @dressingroomdiaries93, has spoken about the creepy figure before. Fans of the occult warned her that she could be dealing with a “mimic”, a special type of ghost that can shapeshift into other forms.
The clip now has 1.3 million views and even sceptics admit it looks terrifying. Some suggested the image is just her reflection.
But she put that theory to rest by filming herself lifting up her arms. The figure behind her, terrifyingly, didn’t.
She said: “She’s back. The last time I made this video people were saying it’s my double reflection but I’m just going to put up my hand here… the sage has worn off.”
The TikTok user was urged to move out of her house. Some even told her to “call a priest“. One said: “The longer I look the more faces I see. Is this my mind playing tricks on me or what?”
A viewer commented, “Girl you need an exorcism, banishing and cleansing”. One wrote: “Omg this is terrifying, I don’t claim this negative energy.”
While another said: “I would jump out of my skin if I saw that behind me, you are a brave woman.”
But not everyone was convinced by the video and one said: “Could this not just be a camera filter? I don’t know?” And one social media user wrote: “I don’t know how you all believe this, it’s definitely just a cardboard cut out or something behind her.”
In a follow-up video, Firzana addressed the people who thought they could see more than one ‘ghost’ in the clip. She said: “It’s honestly freaking me out.”
Experts have several everyday explanations for ghosts. Sleep paralysis could be a factor, according to Dr Chris French, who heads the Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit at London’s Goldsmiths University. When we drift into rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, our bodies stay frozen while our brains are still active.
We might also see ghosts because we believe in them and expect to see them. If we hear a place in haunted, we’ll notice every chill, creak, and shadow.
But haunted houses also tend to have more mould, according to Dr Shane Rogers, a civil and environmental engineering professor at New York’s Clarkson University. His kids showed “strange behaviour” when exposed to mould in his basement.
