Horror second McDonald’s buyer hurls scalding cup of espresso at supervisor

Shocking footage captures the moment one irate customer threw her entire cup of coffee at the manager of the fast food chain, sending her into a fit of searing pain and screams

This is the horrific moment a furious McDonald’s customer lobbed her entire cup of scalding coffee onto the branch’s manager. Police are now investigating the incident as shocking footage emerged of the attack.

Witnesses were left in shock as the customer fled the scene of the McDonald’s restaurant in Saginaw, Michigan. The manager was later taken to hospital for treatment for burns in the wake of the incident.

Since then, officers have discovered the identity of the alleged assailant and have issued a warrant for her arrest.

The Sun reports that dramatic footage shows the customer and the female manager arguing over the counter, with the customer accusing the manager of lying about the refund she received on Tuesday morning (November 5). “You’re a liar, why are you lying?!” the customer can be heard yelling.

In response, the manager — trying to diffuse the situation — remains calm and tries to explain that the refund is currently in the middle of being processed, adding that it could take up to 48 hours for the refund to go through. But this only made the situation worse, as the customer is seen fuming that she has already been at the restaurant for an hour, demanding an apology.

With tensions rising, the manager turns away. But unbeknownst to her, the customer takes the lid off her cup of coffee and hurls it across the counter, aiming it at the manager and sending her into screams of agony.

The attacker then storms out of the restaurant, as employees tend to the manager.

Police confirmed the worker was eventually taken to hospital to be treated for minor burns after the attack took place. Investigations have already identified the woman and are looking for her.

“We learned who she was pretty quickly,” Detective Russ Pahssen from Buena Vista Township Police explained. “Before you know it, people were just reaching out to me.”

He added that the identification process was expedited thanks to the footage being widely shared online, allowing many to confidently verify who they believed the attacker was. Officers are now hoping to find the woman responsible and arrest her within days, warning that any violent outbursts over small misdemeanours will not be tolerated.

“Throwing hot coffee at someone isn’t just rude — it’s criminal,” officers working on the case revealed. A warrant has now been issued for the unnamed woman’s arrest and have urged the public to get in touch if they know any information about her.

Should the woman be detained, it is likely she could face a felony charge for assault, which ranges from a minimum of six months to a maximum of life in prison.
