Eugenie and Beatrice to ‘ditch’ Andrew on Christmas Day as they make ‘main alternative’
King Charles has ruled out having his younger brother round for the traditional Royal Family Christmas as Sandringham, but does not want him to spend the day alone
Shamed Andrew Windsor faces the prospect of spending Christmas Day alone after being snubbed by his his daughters. Princesses Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, are expected to be among those at Sandringham for the traditional Royal Family Christmas.
King Charles – who stripped his brother of his titles last week – has ruled out having him round, but is said to want someone to spend the festive season with “Ordinary Andy”, leaving royal aides and relatives scrambling for a solution.
His brother Prince Edward, 61, or sister Princess Anne, 75, could potentially step in after ex-wife Sarah Ferguson is believed to have received invitations to spend Christmas with friends.
A source told The Sun: “It is a conundrum what they do with Andrew this Christmas. No one wants to be seen with him, and the family have pretty much given up on him.
“Beatrice and Eugenie are very likely to be at Sandringham, as they are very much still in the royal fold. Although Sarah is still living at Royal Lodge, she is believed to be weighing up invitations to spend it with friends, including possibly going abroad.
“But Andrew is depressed after losing his titles and being exiled from the Royal Family, so they don’t want to leave him on his own.”
The humbled ex-Royal, 65, has to leave Royal Lodge by the end of January after the King lost patience after mounting pressure over his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andy will live in a smaller pad on his brother’s Sandringham Estate.
He has always strenuously denied sexually assaulting the late Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was first targeted by him aged just 17. But he was last week summoned to a grilling in the US over his “long-standing friendship” with Epstein.
Members of the House Oversight Committee want the former prince to reveal what he knew about the sicko financier’s actions. It comes after they found “financial records containing notations such as ‘massage for Andrew’ that raise serious questions”.
Politicians in Canada demanded Prince Andrew Island be renamed and streets in cities such as Toronto baring his name be changed. Andy’s fellow commoners in Prince Andrew Road in Broadstairs also demanded the “embarrassing” name be changed.
While no longer known as ‘Prince Andrew’ or the ‘Duke of York’, Andy is still eighth in line for the throne.
