Ebanie Bridges cannot wait to ‘shake all of it off’ as boxer mum teases struggle return
Ebanie Bridges has admitted she can’t wait to get back into the boxing ring and “shake it all off” as the Blonde Bomber finally has a fight date
Ebanie Bridges has admitted she can’t wait to “shake it all off” and get back in the ring.
It’s been a prolonged absence from the sweet science for the Australian – who last boxed in December 2023, when she dropped her IBF Bantamweight title to Japanese star Miyo Yoshida.
And that bout was 12 months after her maiden title bout with Shannon O’Connell – leaving the Blonde Bomber with just two fights in the past four years. However, in that time Bridges has started a family.
Earlier this year, Bridges welcomed a baby boy with British boxing icon Kell Brook. And it didn’t take her long to get back into the ring to restart her training.
And Bridges has now told Boxing King Media that she has a fight date and is only waiting on the official announcement: “I’ve got a fight date, I’m waiting for them to announce it, so I can be like, Hey, guys, found a flight…I back, you know?
“I’ve been waiting a long time. I wanted to get back in the ring straight after my last fight. Literally wanted to get back straight and I wanted to try and get my world title back.
I wanted to get straight back in. But it didn’t happen, I was messed about for a bit, and then I got pregnant. So everything happens for a reason, but, yeah, I’m very excited, and hopefully, any day now it’s gonna get announced!
“Then my plan is to just get back in the ring, have a comeback fight. Not a comeback, like a massive bang. It’s a comeback. I’ve been out for years. I just had a baby.
“I just want to get the rust, the dust, everything off of me. I want to get out there, shake it all off. You know, I feel like I can’t remember what it feels like to walk out to a fight.
“I can’t remember what it feels like to be fit, to cut weight. Like, honestly, it feels that long for me. So I really just want to get out there, have a shake about, and then I want to back it up straight away.
“I’ve been left on ice, waiting, waiting, waiting, one fight a year, two fights a year and I’m just sick of that.
“I’m really hoping Jake Paul and MVP can give me regular fights, because I want to fight. I love fighting.”
