CNN’s Harry Enten Flags How The Epstein Files Are ‘Especially Dreadful’ For Trump

CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten on Thursday showed that President Donald Trump’s polling is well “below water” in terms of how Americans view his administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

“Donald Trump is underwater on basically every single issue he ran on in 2024. But the Epstein files, the Epstein case, are especially dreadful for him,” he said.

Trump’s net approval ratings (percent approval minus percent disapproval) on several key issues — immigration, foreign policy, trade/tariffs and the economy — fall between -5 points to -18 points, according to Enten’s aggregate.

Trump’s net approval rating on the Epstein case? -39, according to Enten.

These findings arrive one day after the president was named in bombshell emails sent by Epstein. The House looks to vote next week on releasing files tied to the late convicted sex offender.

Later in the segment, Enten argued that there’s “nobody in the electorate who is buying” how the Trump administration is managing all things Epstein.

He then compared how Republicans’ approval of Trump’s job as president (87%) compares to those in the party who approve of the administration’s handling of the Epstein case (45%).

“We’re not necessarily sure whether or not this case has moved the ball on Trump’s overall approval rating yet,” Enten said. “But I can tell you that the more that this case is in the news, the worse it is for Donald Trump, because — simply put — it is his worst issue by far.”
