UK faculty poisoning as three college students rushed to hospital after lab chemical horror

Three kids have been rushed to hospital after being poisoned with a chemical from a school lab. The horror unfolded at Lord William’s School in Thame, Oxfordshire.

The students from the secondary school were taken to hospital after being poisoned with diluted Copper Sulphate, according to the school. The three children have been released from hospital after the incident which took place last week.

It is believed a child and a group of classmates had been deliberately adding copper sulphate to their water bottles as they were attracted to the colour of the compound following a science lesson. Speaking on Monday afternoon, headteacher Neil Dimbleby said: “Three students stayed in hospital overnight having ingested diluted Copper Sulphate that had been taken from a laboratory.

“The police were informed and have been supporting us through this incident. We are pleased to report that the students are all now safely at home.”

The Oxford Mail reports an anonymous source claimed parents were unhappy about the incident. They also claimed one parent had contacted the police.

The school has children from the age of 11 through to the age of 18 with around 2,200 pupils.

Meanwhile, armed attackers have stormed a secondary school in north-western Nigeria and kidnapped 25 schoolgirls, according to police reports. One member of staff was killed whilst another sustained injuries in what marks the most recent episode of school kidnappings plaguing Nigeria’s northern territories.

No organisation has yet stepped forward to claim responsibility for the abductions from the boarding establishment in Kebbi state. Police confirmed the assault occurred at 4am local time, with the girls being seized from their dormitories.

The boarding institution is located in Maga, within the state’s Danko-Wasagu district, according to police spokesman Nafi’u Abubakar Kotarkoshi. The raiders carried “sophisticated weapons” and engaged in gunfire with security personnel before making off with the pupils, Kotarkoshi revealed.

“A combined team is currently combing suspected escape routes and surrounding forests in a co-ordinated search and rescue operation aimed at recovering the abducted students and arresting the perpetrators,” the spokesperson added.
