Martin Lewis explains when Black Friday offers drop and get finest bargains

The money saving expert shared what to expect in this year’s Black Friday deals as the Christmas shopping season is upon us – and when you can expect to see the bargains

If you’re planning to hold off on your Christmas shopping until the Black Friday sales, Martin Lewis has some valuable insights to help you pinpoint when you’ll secure the best deals.

On his Martin Lewis Money Show last night (November 18) the telly star dedicated an entire episode to navigating November sales and identifying the discounts truly worth your time. From ‘Grey Friday’ bargains (those available in the weeks leading up to Black Friday) to Black Friday deals kicking off on or just before the 28th November, he spotlighted some fantastic offers from top retailers like Boots, Amazon, Sainsbury’s, Dyson and more.

Here, we break down the deals he believes are worth your attention this year….

‘Grey Friday’ deals.

AO.com

For discounts on electricals and appliances, AO is your go-to, with deals already live. Martin pointed out that Dyson’s V11 Cordless Vacuum is now £348, reduced from £499, and we’ve also noticed that Ninja’s Luxe Café Premier Espresso Coffee Machine is £450, down from £549.

BandM – up to 60% off

Around 60 items are on sale, according to Martin, with his top recommendation being Tefal’s Dual Easy Fryer, now £79 down from £149– a deal he claims is the cheapest he’s seen anywhere for this specific kitchen gadget.

Boots – fragrance, beauty and electrical

Boots and its beauty and wellness offers are definitely worth browsing this week for early bargains. Martin reveals that the Marc Jacobs Daisy Love fragrance, reduced to £37.50, represents the lowest price he’s encountered anywhere, despite other fragrances at Boots being price-matched.

We’ve also discovered Dior’s Sauvage for £85 rather than £107.

Dyson – up to £200 off items

The TV expert revealed that the brand provided up to £150 off last year, making this year’s offering even more impressive (primarily due to inflation). Currently, we’ve found the Airwrap i.

d Multi-Styler reduced from £479.99 to £399.99.

Debenhams – up to 78% off until Nov 30

Martin states: “Debenhams is hot on the items discounted”, indicating that whilst other retailers advertise “up to x% off”, Debenhams features numerous deals that actually achieve those maximum percentage savings. We’re keeping an eye on.

Other brilliant deals to explore this week

La Redoute – up to 50% off everything: Martin comments: “This is a really interesting department store that sells lots of brands”. It’s providing an average of 40% off, which can also be applied to branded items that might prove cheaper than purchasing them directly from the brand.

Tesco – 3 for 2 on toys if you have a Clubcard.

MandS – 25% – 50% off: The various departments (ie, home or fashion) provide different fixed discounts up to 50% off.

Black Friday deals

Many of these are Martin’s forecasts, based on previous years when the brand has launched similar offers, so it’s crucial to keep an eye on the deal launch dates to ensure they go live.

Amazon lightning deals – Nov 20 to Dec 1: Martin predicts that Amazon’s best deals during this period will be on their own-brand devices like Ring doorbells and Echo speakers.

Apple gift cards – Nov 28 to Dec 1: They don’t offer discounts, but they do give money back, which is a rarity for sales.

eBay – Nov 28 to Dec 1: His prediction for 2025 is 40% off Dyson and 25% off Ninja refurbishments with 1-year warranties.

ASOS – Nov 28 to Dec 2: Expect up to 70% off, with the average discount around 47%. The best deals may be reserved for app users.
