Met Office uncommon amber snow warning as energy cuts and journey chaos very seemingly throughout UK
The Met Office has issued two new snow warnings for today, covering large parts of the country – meanwhile a rare amber warning has been issued for North East England
The Met Office has issued fresh snow warnings across England, now stretching over 18 hours and blanketing vast swathes of the nation. A rare amber warning has been put in place for North East England, kicking off at 3am tomorrow, Thursday November 20.
Persistent wintry downpours will sweep inland from the North Sea, bringing substantial snow build-up across the North York Moors and sections of the Yorkshire Wolds.
By Thursday’s end, hills above 100m elevation could see accumulations of 15-25cm, with the warning staying active until 9pm. The Met Office is predicting that blustery winds may trigger “occasional blizzard conditions” and even a “few lightning strikes”, reports the Express.
Amber warnings could bring reavel delays and cancellations, power cuts and risk of injury due to icy patches.

The Met Office has warned that some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services. People are being urged to beware of icy patches that could lead to slips or falls.
