Sarah Ferguson’s ‘toe-sucking’ antics introduced ‘disgrace’ on Royal Family
Sarah Ferguson was left red-faced after she was photographed having her toes sucked by her financial adviser John Bryan, with the Queen’s sister left enraged
The Royal Family was far from pleased with Sarah Ferguson’s infamous toe-sucking scandal, an incident that the Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, found particularly distasteful. Princess Margaret was of the opinion that the scandalous photographs of Ferguson having her toes kissed by John Bryan had brought “shame” upon the family.
The shocking event left the royals aghast and caused quite a commotion at the time. It coincided with the announcement of Ferguson’s separation from Prince Andrew in July 1992.
Fergie’s notorious toe-sucking photographs with her American beau John Bryan delivered the death blow to the couple’s union, though new revelations surfaced later regarding supposed affairs on both sides, with Andrew reportedly bedding more than a dozen women during his first year of marriage to Sarah.
In response to a bouquet of flowers sent by Ferguson, Princess Margaret penned a letter filled with harsh rebukes. The late Princess Margaret wrote: “You have done more to bring shame on the family than could ever have been imagined.
“Not once have you hung your head in embarrassment even for a minute at those disgraceful photographs.”
But Princess Margaret’s indignation extended beyond just the scandal. She chastised Ferguson for having the audacity to send flowers to her and the family.
Her scathing letter continued: “Clearly you have never considered the damage you are causing us all. How dare you discredit us like this and how dare you send me those flowers?”.
The tension between Ferguson and several members of the Royal Family extends further, with rumours suggesting that Ferguson was excluded from a service attended by Prince Charles.
A source close to the family, as reported by Cosmopolitan, stated: “Numbers are limited to the evening party, she is not a member of the Royal Family any more and Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for her. “He just can’t see why she is still such a big part of his brother’s life.”
Despite the purported unfaithfulness from both parties, Andrew and Sarah have maintained their bond throughout the years – even as various controversies resulted in Fergie being exiled from the Royal inner sanctum for an extended period.
Although she had fallen “head over heels” for her clandestine lover John Bryan, Sarah was reportedly left “hysterical” when Andrew telephoned to inform her of their separation – and he allegedly claimed the choice wasn’t his own.
