BREAKING Missing man’s physique present in outdated brewery in Huddersfield as homicide probe launched

A murder investigation has been launched by police after a body was found during the search for a missing man from Huddersfield.

The hunt for Andrew Bray began earlier this week, and the 40-year-old’s remains were discovered at the old brewery site on Willow Lane on Wednesday evening (November 19). Police have now launched an inquiry as they suspect he fell victim to an attack prior to his disappearance. Officers remain at the scene as of now, reports Yorkshire Live.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police have launched a murder enquiry following the discovery of a man’s body in Huddersfield yesterday. The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) is conducting multiple enquiries following the discovery of the body of a man at the former brewery premises on Willow Lane in Huddersfield on Wednesday evening ( 19 November).

Police have launched a murder investigation

“The man was identified last night as missing Andrew Bray (also known as Andrew Boltwood), aged 40, from Huddersfield who had been reported missing.

“Detectives believed Andrew had been the victim of an assault prior to being reported missing and are continuing to conduct enquires at the scene today. A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death and Andrew’s family have been made aware of the latest development.

“Anyone who has information or footage of suspicious behaviour at the former brewery site on Willow Road during Saturday 15 November and Sunday 16 November is asked to contact HMET on 101 or online at https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/livechat, referencing police crime number 13250665272. Information can be given anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”

DCI Michael Cox of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “Multiple active enquiries are ongoing today by detectives into Andrew’s death.

“While a formal post mortem is to take place, we do believe Andrew was assaulted prior to his body being found and, following enquires at the scene, are treating the incident as a murder investigation.

“I am appealing for witnesses and information and would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour in or around the former brewery site last weekend.”

He added: “Any very serious incident, such as a murder, obviously causes shock in local communities and I can assure residents a full investigation is underway into what occurred.

“Local NPT officers are patrolling in the area and working to reassure members of the community.”
