Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s former protection officer claims he saw the then-Duke of York bring two sex workers into Buckingham Palace, before things got even worse
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s former royal protection officer has claimed he witnessed the ex-royal with sex workers at Buckingham Palace. And what he claimed he saw when Andrew left was even more extraordinary. Paul Page served with the Metropolitan Police’s Royal Protection Unit from 1998 to 2004, primarily safeguarding Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and Andrew while they stayed at the Palace.
In an exclusive interview, Paul opened up on the moment Andrew allegedly brought two “giggling” women into his private quarters at Buckingham Palace and spent an hour with them.
Paul was told by colleagues that the pair were almost certainly sex workers – an assessment the former protection officer now accepts given recent allegations concerning Andrew.
Describing the alleged incident, Paul said: “We got a call from the control room. He [Andrew] has got two female guests arriving in a taxi shortly. They said ‘You’re not to stop the taxi, it’s to be directed straight into the quad’.”
Paul and his team decided to ignore the order and halt the vehicle given their concerns about the security risks of permitting a taxi carrying unidentified passengers into Buckingham Palace.
According to Paul, the women wore “very short skirts and very low cut tops”. He alleged they “looked like they might have had a drink”.
Word spread rapidly among officers on duty that evening, and they agreed that when the women departed, whoever was stationed at the gate would do a swift “ring round” so everyone could catch a glimpse of the suspect pair for themselves.
The women allegedly stayed in Andrew’s flat for almost precisely an hour. Paul continued: “Then we get a call – ‘The females are exiting his apartment’.” He added: “You would have thought there was a major security alert. Fifteen police all running full pelt down to the side door to view these two prostitutes.
“There were loads of us packed into the side door area. It’s where all the tradesmen come in. But what the idiot in the control room never told us was that Andrew was with them.”
As soon as the officers spotted Andrew, they bolted, even concealing themselves beneath cars to avoid being spotted. Paul explained that, under normal circumstances, a private visitor would be accompanied off Palace premises by a footman. But what allegedly occurred next stunned Paul even more than the appearance of the two women.
“This time,” Paul claimed, “Andrew has decided to come and not only that he’s walked out onto Buckingham Gate with them – which is unheard of – and he’s stood out on the side of the road with these two unknown females and stayed there for about 10 minutes until he could wave a taxi down and put them in it and send ’em off.
“A member of the Royal Family just doesn’t do that.”
Paul explained that apart from the simple breach of royal protocol, Andrew’s actions represented a significant security risk.He continued: “Anyone could have grabbed him or seen him. He was there for at least ten minutes, because we all had to lay under the f*****g cars for ten minutes waiting for him to p*** off.”
