Police rush to Huddersfield road as lady and man discovered lifeless inside home
West Yorkshire Police were called to a concern for safety in the South Crosland area of Huddersfield on Thursday and the bodies of a man and woman were found within the property
Two individuals have been discovered dead at a property in Huddersfield, with officers treating the fatalities as “unexplained”.
West Yorkshire Police rushed to the scene at 2.47pm on Thursday following concerns for the welfare of residents in the South Crosland area of Huddersfield. Local residents spotted numerous police vehicles and forensic specialists in the Church Lane vicinity that evening.
Authorities have now confirmed they discovered the bodies of a man and woman inside the property and are currently probing the circumstances surrounding their deaths. While the fatalities are being classified as unexplained, officers have stated they are not hunting for anyone else in relation to the tragic incident, reports Yorkshire Live.
A police spokesman revealed: “Police received a report at 2.47pm yesterday (Thursday) of a concern for safety for the occupants of an address in the South Crosland area of Huddersfield.
“The bodies of a man and woman were found within the property. Enquiries are in their early stages. At this time their deaths are being treated as unexplained, but police are not seeking anyone else in connection with their deaths.”
Meanwhile, a murder investigation has been launched by police after a body was found during the search for a missing man from Huddersfield.
The hunt for Andrew Bray began earlier this week, and the 40-year-old’s remains were discovered at the old brewery site on Willow Lane on Wednesday evening (November 19). Police have now launched an inquiry as they suspect he fell victim to an attack prior to his disappearance. Officers remain at the scene as of now.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police have launched a murder enquiry following the discovery of a man’s body in Huddersfield yesterday. The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) is conducting multiple enquiries following the discovery of the body of a man at the former brewery premises on Willow Lane in Huddersfield on Wednesday evening ( 19 November).
“The man was identified last night as missing Andrew Bray (also known as Andrew Boltwood), aged 40, from Huddersfield who had been reported missing.
“Detectives believed Andrew had been the victim of an assault prior to being reported missing and are continuing to conduct enquires at the scene today. A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death and Andrew’s family have been made aware of the latest development.
