BREAKING Driver ‘ploughs into crowd then flees’ as at the very least one useless and 10 injured

A tragic incident in Japan has left one person dead and 10 others injured after a car barrelled into a crowd. The vehicle ploughed into approximately 12 pedestrians in central Tokyo before the driver attempted to flee the scene.
An elderly man in his 80s, who was walking on the street at the time, is reported to have died from the impact. The incident occurred at around 12.30pm on Monday in Tokyo’s Adachi Ward.
Among those injured, a woman in her 20s was found unconscious and in a critical condition; she was immediately rushed to hospital where she remains.
Following the driver’s attempt to escape, Tokyo Police officers managed to apprehend the suspect after a chase of roughly 500m. He has since been arrested, with the incident being treated as a hit and run.
Officers are reportedly investigating whether a vehicle theft from a nearby car dealership two hours before the crash are related.
The incident happened just two hours before an eerily similar tragedy in the South Korean island of Jeju where at least two people died and 11 more were left injured. A van reportedly crashed into a crowded area in a tourism hotspot.
Local reports suggest the driver accelerated their car into a large group of people in a popular South Korean destination filled with holidaymakers.
