Terrifying fact of ‘what actually occurs if you die’ in bombshell idea

A nanotechnology professor has put forward a new theory that could, if proven to be true, explain the science behind near-death experiences and reshape our understanding of consciousness

A expert has shared a new theory when it comes to the concept of consciousness, and it could explain what happens when you die. According to Professor Maria Strømme, a professor of nanotechnology at Uppsala University, consciousness “does not emerge from human brains”.

In her opinion, it is an essential foundation of the universe. If this is truly to be the case, then science could explain the likes of telepathy, near–death experiences, and even life after death.

According to Professor Strømme’s theory, consciousness does not end after death. It comes after a top neuroscientist has warned that your brain will stay conscious for a few minutes after your death.

Professor Strømme told the Daily Mail: “The possibility that consciousness is fundamental has been under–explored. But that is changing rapidly.

“We are reaching a point where asking deeper questions about consciousness is not philosophy on the margins — it is becoming a scientific necessity.”

In her model, ‘individual consciousness’ is thought to be understood as a ‘localised excitation or configuration within a universal consciousness field.’ As well as that, the theory suggests that when we die, consciousness returns to the background field.

Professor Strømme added: “The fundamental substrate of awareness does not begin or end with the body, just as the ocean does not begin or end with the appearance of a single wave.”

If this theory was proven to be true, it could explain the science behind psychic abilities and unique near-death experiences. In other news, Oxford University’s world-renowned physicist Sir Roger Penrose has discovered the soul continues to exist after we die.

Known for his prize-winning work with Stephen Hawking on black holes, Penrose is regarded by many as one of the world’s most brilliant people for his contributions in cosmology and general relativity.

His incredible breakthrough is to view our brain as a biological computer and consciousness, also known as the soul, as a program running in the computer.

The controversial theory sees the soul evading death, as even though microtubules in the brain lose their quantum state, they remain able to retain the information inside of them.

Dr. Hameroff elaborates: “Let’s say the heart stops beating, the blood stops flowing; the micro-tubules lose their quantum state.

“The quantum information within the micro-tubules is not destroyed, it can’t be destroyed, and it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large.

“If the patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the micro-tubules and the patient says, ‘I had a near-death experience.’”

Dr Hameroff adds: “If they’re not revived, and the patient dies, it’s possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body, perhaps indefinitely, as a soul.”
