I attempted the McDonald’s Grinch festive menu and one merchandise despatched me to heaven

If you’re a fan of both the Grinch and McDonald’s, this menu might just be your festive fantasy come true. The place with the golden arches launched its festive offering yesterday, November 26, and it’s here to stay for only a number of weeks.
But before you know it, Christmas will have come and gone, along with your opportunity to try it. The chain said: “It’s here for six weeks only, so savour it while you can!” Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch, we sampled several menu items on launch day.
And there’s one particular offering we enjoyed so much that it deserves to become a permanent fixture. So what was our verdict on the new McDonald’s festive menu for 2025??
Shake your fries
The Grinched McShaker® Fries add a delightful gherkin-flavoured twist to McDonald’s traditional Fries. Simply take the bag (featured in our video below), give it a shake, tip onto a plate and tuck in!
Alongside our meal, we also tried the Frozen Grinch Lemonade and it was delightful. I’m a bit particular when it comes to frozen beverages as they can often be excessively sweet or tasteless and icy. However, this one was perfectly zesty with just the right amount of sweetness.
McDonalds X Grinch socks
Yep. You can get your hands on a free pair of socks when you purchase The Grinch Meal. Available as a Big Mac®, 9 Chicken McNuggets® or a McPlant® meal, it also comes with their new Grinched McShaker® Fries (perfect for pickle lovers), a drink, and of course a pair of limited-edition Mismatched Grinch x McDonald’s Socks to keep your toes toasty this winter.
Make it permanent, please
The Cheesy Chicken Stack is simply divine. Honestly, it’s the tastiest thing McDonald’s has ever created.
Nestled within a soft bun is a large 100% chicken breast fillet in a crispy coating, layered with an abundance of cheese melt, a slice of cheese, lettuce and a warming Chipotle Salsa. McDonald’s claims that it ‘steals the spotlight’ – and I couldn’t agree more.
More cheese please
The Cheese Melt Dippers are back by popular demand. Served with a rich tomato dip and also available as a Sharebox, they’re the perfect indulgence for those who can’t get enough of cheese.
Is the vegan burger worth it?
Unless you’re vegan, you might not be interested. But sometimes it’s worth giving new things a go. I’m not a vegan myself, but I wanted to give it a fair chance.
When it came to the burger, I found it quite enjoyable. The flavourful toppings ensured that the absence of meat went unnoticed, as it still delivered that unique McD taste.
As previously mentioned, I am a huge fan of cheese. I’ve had a lot of vegan and lactose-free cheeses in the past and honestly, I didn’t notice much difference with this one, apart from it being slightly less creamy. The ‘meat’ is of course not from an animal and instead uses Beyond Meat – which you can read all about here.
Also returning…
The Big Tasty® returns with its signature smoky sauce. However, for the first time in the UK, customers can choose between the traditional single-patty Big Tasty® or opt for the Double Big Tasty® for ultimate indulgence. And if that’s not enough, you can add bacon to it.

I’m thinking Stranger Things season 5, which just dropped it’s first few episodes today, the Cheesy Chicken Stack with the Grinched McShaker® Fries and of course, the Frozen Grinch Lemonade. It’s my perfect menu.
