Katana-wielding mad man on the free – and he could possibly be within the UK

A katana-wielding Estonian fugitive, Aivar Bresovski, 26, wanted for a brutal armed robbery and stabbing in Estonia, has landed on Europe’s “most wanted” list, with authorities warning he could be hiding in the UK

After a brutal armed robbery and a stabbing in Eastern Europe, a suspected criminal who used a katana-type of sword has landed on Europe’s “most wanted fugitives” list. After allegedly committing disturbing crimes in Estonia, the fugitive is now believed to be on the loose somewhere in the UK.

The now “wanted” man is also suspected of being involved in organised crime. Aivar Bresovski has been highlighted on Europe’s “most wanted fugitives” list, an official compilation of the most dangerous and high-profile criminals currently sought by law enforcement agencies across Europe.

The list is coordinated by Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, and is published on the website eumostwanted.eu.

The katana-wielding fugitive is currently being chased by authorities, as he is reportedly on the run after a brutal armed robbery and stabbing in Estonia. The 26-year-old, described as dangerous and last seen in Finland, is wanted for attacking a man with a sword and knife, with authorities warning the public to stay alert.

Bresovski “attacked and stabbed the male victim for the purpose of robbery with a katana-type sword and a knife in Estonia on 04.05.2025,” the website states. “He is wanted by the Estonian authorities for the armed robbery since 25.06.2025.”

According to authorities, the alleged criminal’s known whereabouts is Finland, “but can also be located in the United Kingdom”. As the man is accused of being on the run, the agency revealed that the investigation is “ongoing”.

Bresovski is described to have brown eyes and facial scars. He is also said to be fluent in Estonian.

Additionally, Bresovski reportedly holds Estonian nationality and is of Roma ethnicity. While authorities continue their search for the katana-stabber, another “most wanted” has gripped the world, before finally being caught.

Michael Yosimar Castillo Quiñónez was being hunted by Interpol on murder charges.

They had issued a red notice, meaning he was on their high priority, and classed as being highly dangerous, the Daily Star previously reported.
