Kremlin points sick assertion after loss of life of British paratrooper hero in Ukraine

Lance Corporal George Hooley died on Tuesday during a training exercise with the Ukrainian army away from the frontline and now Russia has issued a twisted statement in response

Russia has issued a sickening statement after a British military hero was killed whilst in Ukraine. The statement said that the UK should not be “deceiving its citizens” as tensions between Britain and Russia rise.

It comes after a British soldier was confirmed on Tuesday (December 9) to have died whilst training with Ukrainian soldiers. He has since been named as Lance Corporal George Hooley, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The provocations are another step as part of the Kremlin’s boisterous rhetoric calling out Britain for its support of Ukraine. It comes as NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has warned NATO states to be “prepared” for a war.

Lance Corporal George was killed away from the frontline in the war-torn country, despite having trained as a paratrooper in the army. Now, Mad Vlad Putin’s cronies are demanding answers as to what exactly the soldier was doing in Ukraine when he died.

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for Moscow’s foreign ministry — and a key crony for the Russian dictator — said answers need to be given as to why George was there, according to the Sun. However, Britain’s Ministry of Defence has already explained why he had gone to Ukraine.

Confirming his death on Tuesday, defence chiefs said the 28-year-old had been observing Ukrainian forces test a new form of defence. He was not at the frontline, however, according to sources.

But now Zakharova has insisted that Britain reveal why Hooley had been in Ukraine, saying that Westminster “should not deceive its citizens”. She explained that according to their intelligence, the British government is telling us soldiers are going to Ukraine to advise or instruct Ukrainian troops.

She blasted Britain, adding that forces are allowing Kyiv to “carry out terrorist attacks and extremist tasks”, all with London’s approval. Zakharova continued, saying that Russia will consider all foreign military troops working with Ukraine as “legitimate targets”.

However, she did not prove her claims that the UK is deliberately striking Russian targets using Ukrainian soldiers. As a result, these claims remain unbased.

Maria is not the only one to have upped the ante on Britain’s support for Ukraine in recent days. This is as Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov slammed Britain for allowing its troops to get involved.

“They’re fantasising about sending their troops to Ukraine as peacekeepers,” they said. “For us, these so-called peacekeepers will immediately become legitimate targets.”

He added: “We’ve already been forced to acknowledge the direct participation of British troops and special forces in the war against Russia. After one of them died, and the British government could no longer conceal these circumstances, it was announced that no less than 100 British citizens are among those fighting against the Russian Federation.”

Sergey warned that Hooley’s death will prove to be a dangerous move for the country, as Russia will “draw the necessary conclusions” from his involvement with the war. He added this will expose “the true nature of the British regime”.
