Mohamed Salah named in Liverpool squad for Brighton conflict as Arne Slot makes large name

Mohamed Salah has been named in Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad for their Premier League clash with Brighton over the weekend as the Dutchman makes a huge call

Mohamed Salah has been named in the Liverpool squad for their clash with Brighton over the weekend.

Salah had been dropped from the first-team squad for the Reds’ clash with Inter Milan during the week after his bombshell interview after Slot’s side lost to Leeds. However, Salah, is back in the picture after talks with Slot.

According to reports, Salah has been recalled after face-to-face talks with Slot at Liverpool’s AXA training headquarters. Reports suggest their relationship has improved – but there are still issues and they will continue to be tackled by the Liverpool hierarchy and Salah’s representative, Ramy Abbas.

Speaking at his press conference on Friday, Slot admitted: “I will have a conversation with Mo. The outcome of that conversation determines how things will look [on Saturday]…

“What I need is a conversation with him and I think the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not in here.

“You can keep on trying but there is not much more to say about it [other than] that I speak to him today and, like I said, the outcome of that conversation determines how things will look tomorrow.”

He added: “We decided as a club – and I was part of that decision – not to take him to Milan.

“I am always in contact with them [sporting director Richard Hughes and chief executive Michael Edwards] but when it comes to the decision making of the line-up or the squad, they leave that open to me.”

Salah is due to link up with the Egypt squad after the Brighton clash for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The AFCON kicks off on December 21, and Salah will miss at least two Premier League games while playing in Morocco.
