Man Utd ace advised to ‘focus’ as he meets starstruck fan after Liverpool blunder

Manchester United ace Senne Lammens was told to “focus” after he met a starstruck fan following his howler in the 3-2 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford

A Manchester United ace has been told to “focus” after he met a starstruck fan while at a concert.

Senne Lammens took some time to relax away from football as the goalkeeper headed out to a gig. The 23-year-old was met by an adoring fan, who asked for a selfie, but after he posed next to the glamorous blonde supporter, other fans told the United shotstopper to “focus” on his game.

She shared the photo on X after United’s 3-2 win over Liverpool, during which his huge mistake handed the away team an equaliser and almost threw away a victory against the Red Devils’ bitter rivals. One fan responded: “Stay away from my Keeper pls. Those two things can disrupt a man’s focus…”

A second advised him to “always stay focused”. A third joked: “No wonder he can’t kick straight!! My god.” A fourth added: “Bro winning on and off the pitch!”

“He looks so innocent,” another joked, to which the fan who shared the image replied: “He’s the loveliest guy.”

While the majority of the comments were light-hearted, the United fan was exposed to some abusive comments.

She hit back: “You’re all weird, I see the Man Utd keeper at a concert, have a quick chat and ask for a photo, like any of you would!”

Lammens had a howler against Liverpool, as the Red Devils’ two-goal lead at half-time was quickly eradicated after the break. Early goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko had put Michael Carrick’s side in a commanding position.

However, Liverpool turned the contest on its head immediately after half-time as Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo capitalised on errors to level – first from Amad and the secondly from the Belgian keeper. He misplaced a pass from a goal kick straight to Alexis Mac Allister.

Mac Allister latched onto the ball and played a pass into the feet of Szoboszlai, who squared the ball to Gakpo to tap into an empty net. But in a thrilling finish, Liverpool failed to clear Luke Shaw’s cross and the ball fell to Kobbie Mainoo on the edge of the area, who converted brilliantly to spare Lammens’ blushes and send Old Trafford wild.

Ahead of his summer move, former coach Rik De Mil revealed the keeper bounced back from mistakes incredibly well: “He had moments of doubt which is normal for a young talent.

“When he made a mistake, he put more pressure on himself. Over the years he developed into somebody who can handle this pressure. When he makes a mistake, he just continues. He has grown a lot in this.”

And the Belgian shot-stopper demonstrated this with an incredible save to keep the score level in the 68th minute, allowing Kobbie Maninoo to net the winner.
