Boxing bout deserted as fighter crashes out of ring simply 92 seconds into conflict
A boxing match was abandoned and ruled a no contest after a fighter fell out of the ring just one minute and 22 seconds into the first round

Dave Allen’s boxing match against Thomas Carty was called off after just one minute and 22 seconds in extraordinary circumstances.
The fight was ruled a no-contest after Carty sustained an injury following a tumble out of the ring. Allen, 34, appeared to hit Carty in the back of the head before the latter tumbled through the ropes and out of the ring. The Irishman was unable to carry on in the clash that was acting as the co-main event for Katie Taylor vs Flora Pili at Croke Park.
Carty grasped the back of his head as he plunged head-first through the ropes and onto the floor. The 30-year-old remained there for several minutes as he sat up and was given oxygen.

DAZN cameras seemed to capture Allen saying, “he jumped out of the ring.” Following the no contest, Allen added: “That’s one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen in my life”
The extraordinary scenes unfolded with some notable figures from the fight world in attendance. UFC star Paddy ‘the Baddy’ Pimblett and former boxing world champion Prince Naseem Hamed were at the stadium for Taylor’s farewell at a packed-out Croke Park. Around 80,000 attended the main event.
Taylor, 40, capped off her illustrious career by becoming a three-time undisputed champion against French star Pili. The pioneer already held the WBO, WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles and claimed the vacant WBC belt against her previous 12-0 opponent.

The Bray bomber had spent years campaigning to compete in Dublin’s legendary venue and finally secured her dream, marking an emotional night that left Hearn holding back the tears as he paid tribute to Taylor.
He told Taylor: “If I can ever educate my children to live with the same values that you have, they’re going to go on and live a great life.

“To wake up in the morning with fire in your heart, walk with faith and passion in your will and work as hard as you can and refuse to be told that anything is impossible. That’s what you’ve done your whole career.
“I was disappointed that we allowed people to make us go against what we truly believed and our gut feeling, which is that, ‘you can do this, you can sell it out’ and it was you who came back and told us to go again. If you didn’t do that, we would never have had tonight. That was the greatest moment I’ve ever had in my entire career.”
Taylor took in the applause of the crowd one final time and laid her gloves in the middle of the ring, alongside her world title belts.
