Distressing second Australian vacationer is killed in a freak accident with a glass door at a late-night restaurant in Thailand
An Australian man has died in Thailand after running into a glass door.
Police were called to Cappadocia Turkish Restaurant in Karon, Phuket, about 10.30pm on December 11, following reports of a disturbance involving a foreigner.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the business’ glass door shattered and a large pool of blood on the floor.
The Australian had already been rushed to Chalong Hospital, where he later died from severe blood loss due to a deep cut on his right leg.
Officers reviewed CCTV footage from inside the restaurant, which showed the Australian had entered alone and sat at a table.
His odd behaviour caused several nearby diners to move away from him.
The man appeared disorientated and repeatedly nodded his head before suddenly standing and running to the glass door, while yelling.
Staff jumped as the man hit the glass pane and screamed.
