Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul LIVE: Ex-heavyweight champion WINS as he stops YouTuber with devastating energy – ref sees sufficient after mics caught him calling out Paul mid-fight

Follow Mail Sport’s live blog as Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua go head-to-head at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Story of the night

These pictures pretty much tell you how the fight went. Missed punches. Takedown attempts. Knockdowns. Jake Paul knocked out.

Joshua: ‘I don’t care about the legacy’

More from Anthony Joshua, on Netflix:

I don’t care about the legacy. All the legacy is there to just last for 50 years, then it’s done. This is what I do, I’ll do it till I can’t any more.

Chris Eubank Jr: ‘You have to give Paul respect’

Jake Paul really has earned a lot of respect in the boxing world tonight.

Chris Eubank Jr has now come out on Twitter to give his props to the YouTuber turned boxer, stating he ‘tried his best until the very end’.

And to be fair, despite my qualms with the farcical nature of the fight, he’s right. The man never gave up and had the bottle that most wouldn’t.

I’d be interested to see what other fighters think, too.

WATCH: The winning punch

OK, now this is a class clip.

Just look at the reaction of Jake Paul as he falls to the canvas, you can see him mouth the word ‘wowwwwww’ as he looks stunned.

That’s probably the hardest punch to the jaw he has ever taken in his life, and it didn’t even shut his lights out.

The reaction just makes the clip for me.

Paul gains respect of Joshua

I really don’t know what to think after that.

Anthony Joshua gave Jake Paul props for hanging in there with him for six rounds, which, in fairness, he deserves.

To last that long with a two-time heavyweight champion shows a lot of heart.

(Now here comes the but)

Butttt… Paul showed a severe lack of skill for much of the night. He ran away from Joshua in the early rounds, tried to make it an MMA/ wrestling fight with a series of double-leg takedown attempts, and barely threw any punches.

So in terms of skill level, he left a lot to be desired.

Still, fair dos to the fella for even getting in the ring with Joshua in the first place.

Happy Joshua

OK, so maybe Anthony Joshua is just a happy boy.

He still hasn’t got back to his changing room yet as he is surrounded by so many bodies.

The Brit is constantly laughing, smiling, joking about, and waving to the crowd as he attempts to leave.

I said he won’t be happy with his performance, but to be honest, it really doesn’tlook like he cares.

Job done, and he will move on pretty quick.

But after that performance, I don’t see how he gets anywhere near Tyson Fury, should that fight end up happening.

Fury will be rsuty, too, mind.

Paul has ‘broken jaw’

Wild.

Jake Paul has just claimed that his jaw is ‘definitely broken’, and he almost seems proud of it.

I mean, he has just gone six rounds with one of the greatest heavyweights of this generation, so fair play, he should be proud (even though he did some very stupid things during the fight).

One brave lad, I have to say.

Joshua: ‘Step in wth me next, Tyson Fury’

Anthony Joshua, speaking to Netflix:

Well, first of all, I want to give love to the crowd and everyone who came out. I really appreciate everyone in this venue. It wasn’t the best performance, the end goal was to get Jake Paul, put him down and hurt him. It took longer than expected, but the right hand finally found the destination.

Jake Paul has done really well tonight. I want to give him his props. He got up time and time again. It was difficult in there for him, but he kept on trying to find a way. it takes a real man to do that. Anyone who laces up these gloves, we have to give them their respect, we have to give Jake his respect for trying and trying.

But he came up against a real fighter tonight that’s had a 15th month lay off.. We shook off the cobwebs and I can’t wait to roll into 2026. If Tyson Fury is as serious as he thinks he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight one of the realest fighters out there that will take on any challenge, step in the ring with me next if you are a real bad boy.

Joshua shows some joy

That fight has almost angered me a little bit, as a fan of boxing.

It was almost a wrestling match; it didn’t feel like a proper fight until Anthony Joshua finally started unloading on Jake Paul.

Eventually, Joshua shows a little bit of joy in celebration. I reckon he just remembered how much money he is making.

He can’t be that happy with his display, though, surely.

‘Joshua tired of it’

Jeff Powell in Miami:

Its over. If there had been some pretence earlier Joshua tires of it and batters Paul down for good.

ANTHONY JOSHUA WINS BY KO!

Anthony Joshua gets it done, eventually.

The fourth knockdown is too much for Jake Paul, and the referee calls it.

There are no real celebrations from Anthony Joshua; if anything, he looks embarrassed with how long that took.

If anything, Paul looks the happiest; the man is even smiling after coming back around.

What a weird and ridiculous fight.

ROUND SIX: Paul knocked down AGAIN

ANOTHER KNOCKDOWN!

Jake Paul is down again. How is this fight still going on?

The end is nigh, surely.
