Wetherspoon to make main worth change at greater than 600 pubs this week – however act quick
The January sale includes both food and drink options – here’s what you should know
Wetherspoon is set to kick off its January sale this week – and customers can grab a pint for as little as 99p. The pub giant’s discount will span across more than 600 pubs from Friday, January 2 (or January 3 in Scotland) until Thursday, January 15.
Coldwater Creek wine, including 250ml glasses of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, rosé and Merlot, at just £2.99, is also included in the offer, alongside various other popular items. Wetherspoon’s founder and chairman, Tim Martin, said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to also have a sale in the pubs.
“The range of food and drinks on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. We have included a large selection of low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. I believe that the January sale will prove popular with customers. As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”
Although certain prices may vary between locations, Wetherspoon told the Daily Star that all but its airport pubs will be participating in the January sale. Worthington’s beer and non-alcoholic lager, Beck’s Blue, will be among those available from just 99p.
Beyond this, other discounted drinks will include:
- Johnnie Walker Black Label and Tanqueray gin (25ml, mixer included) for £1.99
- Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa for 99p each
- Coldwater Creek wine (Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, rosé and Merlot, 250ml glass for £2.99
- Low-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks at £1.69 each: Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, BrewDog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers Zero, Kopparberg Alcohol Free, Gordon’s 0.0 pink gin
- Beck’s Blue for 99p each
- Worthington’s beer at 99p each
During the January sale, customers can also enjoy various savings on food. An eleven-inch Margherita pizza and a crunchy chicken burger served with chips or a side salad will cost £4.99 with a soft drink or just £6.52 with an alcoholic drink.
Additional Wetherspoon sale items include:
- A jacket potato with one filling (choose from tuna mayo, coleslaw, chilli bean non-carne, cheese, baked beans, and roasted vegetables) will cost £4.99 (with a soft drink) and £6.52 (with an alcoholic drink). Customers can add an extra filling or a side salad for 99p
- Three new gourmet jacket potato varieties costing £6.49 (with soft drink) and £8.02 (with alcoholic drink). This includes ‘The loaded spud’ topped with cheese, maple-cured bacon, garlic butter, and sour cream; ‘The Mexican spud’, a vegetarian option filled with chilli bean non-carne, cheese, guacamole, crushed tortilla chips, sliced chilli, and coriander; and ‘The smoky spud’, loaded with pulled BBQ beef brisket, cheese, smoky chipotle mayo, and sliced chilli
